Taco Bell Elopement
I got the call. The call I had been waiting on since the Vegas Taco Bell Wedding Chapel went semi viral a few years back. I was even luckier to get the call to see two of my best friends have a surprise engagement followed by an instant wedding (hopefully) then wash it down with a spiked Baja blast. Needles to say it went off without a hitch. Jackson knew exactly the bride he picked and that she would be game for such an out of the box/bun surprise elopement. Throw in wedding vows all based on a Taco Bell theme, an epic hot sauce bouquet (that you don’t get to keep ugg) and a tight nit group of friends and family from all corners of the nation and our neighbor to the north. It all made it worth catching that red eye back to Houston and my 9-5 on no sleep.
So let’s talk details. The ruse was somehow Jackson convinced his best friend and 2 home-bodies with a newborn baby to go to Vegas for a weekend (pro tip never stay at the RIO). So after a sting of massively delayed flights drinking way too much in the airport, drinking way to much in the morning at the Tiki Room we were off to dinner. But first everyone has got to see the Taco Bell cantina and their wall of alcoholic frozen drinks to pregame dinner at a some nearby steak house we had no intention of going to. Then despite signs saying there was a private event Jackson grabbed Chantelle by the hand and dragged her upstairs to the chapel. Meanwhile upstairs is her sister and best friend who she had no clue would be in town from both Houston and Canada. Jackson drops to one knee and pops the question. This question comes with one more caveat its not will you marry me some point in the future the question is “will you marry me now in this Taco Bell.” Please say yes because I already paid for it. She took it in stride like that was the plan all along. Knowing Chantelle I am not shocked. She is down AF. If anything having me snapping away trying to capture the world record of fastest engagement, followed by the fasted wedding, followed by the fastest reception was the only thing out of place. As beautiful as she is she hates being the center of attention. The vows were amazing. If for no other reason to have a wedding at the Taco Bell cantina in Las Vegas Nevada have a wedding there just to hear those epic ass vows. More puns than a fast and the furious movie. So many Taco Bell references. But please someone help me get them a wedding gift and make me one of those amazing hot sauce bouquets. No joke if you are crafty and you have read this far drop me a line and I think Chanti deserves one! In the end what matters is how amazing this happy couple is. Congrats guys such a classic wedding for a classic couple. This was one for my bucket list!
